| Ansar Youth Project (London Borough of Harrow, UK) and the Ayatullah
Sayyid Hussain Ismail Al-Sadr Foundation Trust (Baghdad, Iraq) are proud to announce that *Ali Al-Mawlawi (24 years) *who is currently studying in London will be taking part in this years Flora London Marathon on Sunday 13 April 2008 to raise money for both charities. The Flora London Marathon is a 26 mile (40km) course and the most prestigious charity marathon in the UK. Ali hopes to raise a minimum of ?1,000 to share equally between both charities. "For a novice like me, completing the London Marathon is all about mind over matter. This personal challenge is all the more appealing because it will hopefully benefit more than just one individual," he said. Ansar Youth Project (AYP) is a social inclusion project providing welfare services and life skills development to young people in North West London. The majority of the Charitys beneficiaries are young people from ethnic minority, refugee and Muslim communities. Through a regular programme of activities, outings and camps, Youth Workers support young people to broaden their horizons and develop their physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual capacities. The Charity currently supports over 300 young people. The Ayatullah Sayyid Hussain Ismail Al-Sadr Foundation Trust based in Iraqs capital city runs a range of humanitarian and development programmes including an orphanage providing shelter and education to children and a peace and reconciliation project, which unifies Iraqs diverse ethnic and religious communities by promoting dialogue and cooperation.
